Digital Tech Spotlight by Jaya Blanc
Each day in Digital Tech class was filled with focus, creativity, and learning. Students spent their time mastering computer skills that would prepare them for real world career and success. Between typing exercises, PowerPoints, and Gmetrix practice, the classroom stayed busy with different activities. “Digital Tech helped me learn how to manage my time and stay organized”, said freshman Anabella Mulligan.
One of the most important tools in the class was Gmetrix, a program that helped students practice for Microsoft Office certifications. Anabella and her classmates often worked through practice exams, learning how to format documents, and solve digital challenges. “At first, Gmetrix felt hard”, Mulligan admitted with a smile. “But once I got used to it, I realized how much it helped me improve and got easy,” said Mulligan.
Outside of test prep, students kept detailed notes to stay on top of lessons and track their progress throughout the class. To make review time more fun, the class often played Blookets, turning learning into a friendly competition. By the end of the semester, students in Digital Tech had gained more than just computer skills - they built confidence, teamwork, and critical thinking skills. Mulligan's hard work and positive attitude reflected the spirit of the entire class. “ “I'm really proud of how far I've come,” Mulligan shared.
