Educational Program Opportunity (EPO) - Out of area students who want to attend Melbourne High School for a specific program. 

Melbourne High School offers two types of choice programs:

1. International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB-DP) - application required for zoned and out of area students. 

2. Career and Technical Education (CTE) - application required for out of area students only.
   

   • Applied Engineering Technology

   • Applied Cybersecurity

   • Building Construction Technologies

   • Culinary Arts

   • Digital Design

   • Digital Video Technology

   • Health First Healthcare Academy

     • Emergency Medical Responder

     • Nursing Assistant-Patient Care Assisting (PSAV)

   • VyStar Business Program

**out of area students applying to any of the above CTE Programs may also request admission to the IB Career Programme (IB-CP) once enrolled at Melbourne High School

IMPORTANT DATES for 2026-2027 School Year

• Nov 3: Renewal Applications Open (via Focus for returning ELO/EPO students ONLY)

• Dec 1 - Jan 16: Secondary Programs - (ELO/EPO) - NEW Applications Open (via Focus)

• Dec 4: Melbourne High School Choice Night - 6pm-8pm at MHS

• Feb 23: Lottery held for Secondary Schools (excluding IB - Rubric Based)

• Feb 23 - 27: Notification of Seat Offering or Waitlist Status (via Focus)

• March 12: Rising Freshman Night - 6pm to 8pm at Mel High

• March 13: Deadline for New Applicants to Accept or Decline Offered Seat (via Focus)

• May 1: If you missed the deadline and want to join the waitlist: Applications reopen and you are automatically placed on the waitlist behind anyone that applied in the main application window. (via Focus)

• End of July - Last day for schools to offer seats from waitlist
