9th grader Claire Miodek took time to get ready for her recent geometry test. “I studied by redoing the problems she struggled with and reviewing notes from my packet,” she said. Even though she started studying the night before, Miodek made sure to focus on understanding what she had missed in class. Her main goal was to feel more confident going into the test.

One of the hardest topics for Miodek was justifying proofs. She explained that it took her a while to understand, but practicing problems helped her improve. Miodek preferred solving problems over reading notes because it helped her remember the steps better. “The form I always remember is slope intercept form because it is the most common in our lessons,” she said.

Before test day, Miodek liked to stop by Starbucks to help her relax since her geometry test was first period. “I feel very confident about this test because I have done the things I need to be prepared for it,” Miodek thought that justifying proofs might be one of the trickier questions on the test. “My advice for anyone taking the test is study justifying proofs,” she said.
