Thursday night games bring excitement, bright lights, cheering crowds, and big plays, but what fans don't see is the hard work that happens behind the scenes. For JV football player Tyquez Harris, the season has been about much more than touchdowns and tackles. It’s the early mornings, the long practices, and the discipline it takes to grow as both an athlete and a leader.
Harris spent countless hours preparing for each game, putting in effort during grueling practices and pushing himself to improve every day. Whether it’s running plays until they are perfect, conditioning in the heat, or balancing schoolwork with football, he shows the determination and resilience that JV football demands. Coaches recognized his focus, and teammates fed off his energy, knowing he set the tone for hard work and commitment. Harris said, “I never thought I would make it so far in football, I feel like all the effort I’ve put into this sport has made me who I am today.”
While fans celebrate what happened on the field, Harris understands that true success is built in unseen moments. The sore muscles, all the film sessions, and the drive to keep going even when it’s tough to prepare himself for the future. As Harris himself put it, “The games are exciting and fun, all the time put behind the practices and hard days makes the wins so worth it and so possible.”
