JV Cheer Team Supports the Football Team as they beat Rockledge by Lily Hock
Cheerleading isn’t just a great sport or hobby, it’s a key part of school spirit and pride. To get a better idea of what it’s like, Ally Field talked about her experience on the JV cheerleading team. On Thursday, The JV football team played against Rockledge high school and beat them 20-6 with the support of the cheerleaders. This support fueled the football players and the schools spirit.
Field had been cheerleading for 1 year and enjoyed the experience and the connections she’s made from it. She joined the JV team as a way to get involved in high school and further these connections. The cheer team worked together to perform stunts and dances to support the JV football team as they played against Rockledge high school. Being a cheerleader had many aspects from the training and practices to learning and memorizing all the routines. Field said, “There are two practices a week and one game. Practices started with a run then practicing dances twice and conditioning.” This training helped the cheer team give their best performance which boosted crowd engagement and gave the football players support.
Cheerleading fueled school spirit and pride and boosted the crowds engagement at every football game. It’s a difficult sport that required commitment and dedication from everyone. Field’s experience showed how important it is not just to the cheerleaders, but the school as a whole. It’s a symbol of excellence and athleticism.
