Jennifer Molinari at the band concert

Concert Band's Winter Concert By Trinity Kreiselman

Freshman Jennifer Molinari had her moment to shine at Mel High’s recent concert, she showed off her musical skills and love for performing. She plays multiple instruments, including the bass clarinet, baritone saxophone, and double bass, making her a standout performer in band. Last week’s concerts were a big deal for Molinari, with three performances throughout the week. Showcasing her skills on every instrument she’s mastered. In one concert, she played bass clarinet, while in others she switched to baritone saxophone and double bass.

Despite the busy schedule, she says that her playing music definitely made her day a lot better. “I practiced a lot but that didn’t affect my day in a negative way. I really enjoy practicing and playing my instruments,” she said. “My favorite part of all the concerts was playing the music and getting to see my family’s faces light up with joy.” Molinari says that she wants to continue to make people happy with the music that she can make.

Her love for music is fueled by the people who inspire her most. “Mr. Kilbury has supported me through tough times,” she said, referring to her band director. “And my parents too, because they love listening to me play and support me through my music.” Their encouragement pushes her to work hard and always give her best, helping her grow as both a musician and a person. Both Mr. Kilbury and her parents have encouraged her to continue trying her best.

With over 16 concerts already preformed, and a whole season of marching band. She’s determined to continue playing music for as long as she can, and it’s clear that her passion for music is huge. “Music makes me really happy,” she said. Her dedication and love for what she does prove that Molinari is just getting started.
