Club Spotlight: Guitar Club
By Chloe Strong
The school's guitar club is a weekly gathering for six-string enthusiasts. It was a welcoming environment for students of all skill levels. It formed friendships, melodies that were shared with each other, mostly sharing the mutual love of music. Landon Moore's goal was to get the opportunity to shine and collaborate with others . Moore said, “ I joined the Guitar club because I wanted to meet other people interested in guitar playing and in music while also slowly enhancing my guitar playing skills”.
Moore met his goal to excel in the guitar industry, he absorbed the guidance offered by more experienced members, eagerly practicing techniques, and exploring in genres continuously. Moore did not shy away from being dedicated to improving and was thrilled by his progress. "Before I started I hardly knew anything about the instrument, but after a few meets and lots of practice outside of guitar club I got pretty decent at it, I even managed to form a band with a few friends and continue to grow as a person”.
Marco Bricenov shares his story of getting the honor to be elected president for the guitar club. Bricenov said, “I became president because I'm the one who has more time at the club and also who plays the acoustic guitar at the club the best.” Becoming president he spent countless hours practicing, the meticulous care he took of the club's instruments, and his willingness to help other members improve their skills. While his eagerness was to build others instrumental passions for others his commitment was undeniable.
His heart of belonging to a club centered around a shared passion. Bricenov said, “My favorite part of the club is sharing with the people and having a place to practice and share because it is something I love and sharing that with my friends is always nice.” Bricenov never passes up the opportunity to connect with like minded individuals about their similarities for this hobby. He perfectly encapsulates the leadership of both the skill itself and the inherent love for it passing it onto others in the club.
