During the Homecoming dance, this surprise picture captured the moment of some friends having a blast. After the long wait to enter, the group had a blast along with others. Once the lights went out, the dancers took the floor and enjoyed the rest of the night. “The Homecoming dance was my favorite this week because it was super fun!” Hanson said after the dance.

Lights, camera, action! What is Homecoming? Well, you have the dance and fun activities during spirit week that comes prior to it. Multiple people attended and participated, and juniors, Hannele Hanson, Sean Kettering, and Makalin Elton were a few.

Hanson is part of the DP (Diploma Path) in IB and works hard for her grades, she is a fun, funny, and cheerful person to be around. “I am looking forward to having fun and dancing with friends!” Hanson says, “I also love getting ready for the occasion and getting into the HOCO spirit. I thought the music was pretty good at Homecoming, and I thought the theme was cool,” she explains.

Elton is also a part of DP, she is funny and has the help of others to help with her rigorous course. “My favorite day this week was Friday because I was looking forward to the football game and seeing all of my friends,” Elton says, “I think it could have been better if the lights were turned off all the way but it was still super fun."

Kettering is a junior who is dual enrolled in Calculus 1, which contains Analytical Geometry, Chemistry plus Lab, and Composition 2, which he describes as hard but worth the effort. “I think the white lie [spirit week day] was something I looked forward to,” Kettering says, “mainly because I just didn’t know what it was.”

Whether in class, on social media, or at the mall, people were wondering what is in and out of style for Homecoming this year. Freshman, Scarlet Hess, said,“ My friends have shown me their dresses. I have seen most of them have tighter fitting dresses.” But, dresses aren't the only thing being talked about this homecoming season.

There isn't just one thing to an outfit. You have to consider the small things too. Tiny things can make or break an outfit. Hess said, “I think wearing a whole bunch of bracelets and necklaces, or really just a whole bunch of jewelry in general can ruin someone's outfit.” During formal events people really get down to the tiny little things from head to toe to ensure the look is sleek and perfect.

From head to toe people considered when choosing their homecoming outfits, from the hair to the shoes. Many people pick sides on whether they are team heels or team sneakers. During a poll on Instagram, 81.7% of people chose team heels. Lastly, people were asked whether they think that people attending this year's homecoming will  dress in theme or do their own thing with the style of their outfit.  And 28.7% of people said they would consider dressing in the theme of the dance.
