Senior Spotlight: Landon Mallady
By Dexter Bray
Friday night lights went dark for the last time for some of our football players. For one of our players, senior, Landon Mallady, this was his last fight. Leading up to the final game, Mallady said he was feeling “relaxed and ready to play”.
Many high school students and student-athletes want to go to college for either academics or for their sport, but Mallady was exempt from this goal and is striving for something else. “I do not plan to continue the sport, I plan to pursue a trade.”
Throughout the years, the team has had their ups and downs, though, this doesn't mean the team haven't had fun. Mallady stated, “I had one of my best if not the best high-school season I've had these four years”
Upon getting ready for each game, some players put their headphones on and wanna be alone, while Landon Mallady likes to “get with my guys and just get ready to go [before] coming back from being down 13-0 and beating Lyman."
As everyone knows, practice makes everything better. Mallady is no exception, it's no shock that over his four years of playing he has improved. Mallady has improved on his skills. “My pass rushing and being able to control my emotions and mentality better [has improved over the seasons].”
